"Growing up on a wheat and sheep farm in the Beverley district and having a father that loved to paint was definitely the catalyst for a passion that allowed me to explore and have fun with paint. Being a romantic at heart is perhaps the reason I fell in love with impressionism, which seeks to evoke emotion through large brush strokes as well as color harmony and sometimes exaggerated hues rather than accuracy.

Inspiration in the early years mostly came from the surroundings on the farm where I was raised, and the ‘Old Masters’ books. Much of my work reflects precious moments that happen in our daily living, along with varying aspects of creation.

I began painting seriously in 2003, exhibiting in a few galleries around the southwest and entering competitions. Much of my work has been commission based including posters for the annual ‘Round The House Classics Car Race’ held in Albany."
